Make Fairtrade your habit - 'respect the environment and improve people's lives'

The 'ethical trading arm' of Spectrum business™ works to address some of the wider global issues facing third world producers through the sale and distribution of Fairtrade food and drink products.

Our 'trading arm', here in the UK, is part of our own ethical trading project 'Working out of Poverty'. Spot our trucks and purchase our products from your favourite local shops, cafes, bars, schools and leisure clubs.

Our Fairtrade products

Spectrum trading™ forms partnerships with local community groups to provide sustainable work opportunities for 'disadvantaged social groups'. Our mission is to provide skills training and support, together with 'commercial' community assistance, to help people 'get back on track' and rebuild their lives. We do this through building and supporting our team of truck sales merchandisers.

'Working out of Poverty'

Q. What is poverty?

Absolute poverty, relative poverty, social exclusion: we don't really need a textbook definition. Today, even in the UK, poverty is not hard to find. Many in the community are experiencing poverty right now; others either have been, or will be, touched by poverty at some point in their lives. Globally, for millions more, poverty is a daily reality from which there is little chance of escape.

Q. What is Spectrum trading™?

Spectrum tradingis an ethical self-funding enterprise, supporting people and business in the community. Our experience and knowledge enables us to understand the wider issues affecting the people we work with locally and globally.

Q. What inspired the formation of the 'ethical trading arm' of Spectrum business™?

Spectrum businesswas founded by Bridget Harraden who, after experiencing life on the streets at 16 as a 'vulnerable person', has gone on to become a successful businesswoman. Find out more here.
